Tummy time has been quite a challenge. From very early on, Michael figured out how to flip over, and spends very little time on his belly. He really thinks he's pretty funny rolling over when mommy wants him to stay on his tummy. After he rolls over, he looks at me, smiles, and coos in a laughing manner. I can't help but laugh back, which only encourages him. I'm also very impressed with his ability to roll over already. Although this is around the time that babies would be doing this, Michael has been doing it for over a month now.
I'm told that tummy time is very important, not just to build his neck and shoulder muscles, but it is developmetally important. Plus, I figure if he doesn't spend any time on his stomach, how will he learn to crawl? So, I keep trying to get him to stay on his belly with very little success. But occassionally, Michael cooperates and shows off
how strong he is. Not only can he lift his head all the way up, he is starting to push up with his arms, too! Maybe I'm just a proud parent, but he seems pretty advanced to me.
That's my boy!

Hey Liz,
Keep up the blog. We love "Tummy Time". Can you get that video camera working on here too? That way we can watch as Michael skips right over crawling and starts dancing.
He's beautiful!

It is great to see the pictures and hear from you as he grows up! Keep it up if you can find the time!
